It’s Tomato Time!

After all the hard work and the work is never done, but some of the rewards of the farm are starting to yield sweet tomatoes. Yummy Tummy Farms grew seven different colors in four different sizes- pretty awesome! The only plant failure due to disease was a white tomato called white tomesol which was disappointing, but that is how it goes sometimes.

With all these tomatoes, I have made homemade pizza four nights in a row which is such an indulgence, but this is what we have worked so hard for this season. I am working on perfecting my thin-crust pizza dough and I’ll post the recipe as soon as I feel like it’s consistently up to my quality standards. The mouth-gasms caused by the rich, deep, and diverse tomato flavor  are powerful. Since the nights have been cooler than normal, the tomatoes have taken extra time to ripen, but my patience has been rewarded and at this rate, I may be harvesting tomatoes into November.
