Yummy Tummy Farms is going to be holding a press conference tomorrow in partnership with CALPIRG (California Public Interest Research Group). CALPIRG is a statewide consumer advocacy organization, working to end subsidies for junk food. Tomorrow’s press conference is being held in order to release a report called Apples to Twinkies 2012, which breaks down how many billions of dollars in taxpayer agricultural subsidies end up supporting junk food and in so doing our tax dollars directly and indirectly contribute to the obesity epidemic, especially childhood obesity.
The release of this report will be on July 25th at Yummy Tummy Farms 5611 Doorn Lane San Jose, CA 95118. The press conference is expected to start at 11am and should last 15-20 minutes. As for what it would look like, I expect a podium, copies of the report, members of the media, a few invited local farmers, hopefully a nutritionist and a physician will all speak as well.

I hope you all will come out and support Yummy Tummy Farms and this worthy cause as the Yummy Tummy Farms Community in partnership with CALPIRG takes a stand against the epidemic of obesity, especially childhood obesity.
